This is a great way to get in some good tennis and to get to know other
players. Here's how it works.
The initial pairings are by draw. Play is for twenty minutes and whoever is ahead at the end wins that set. After each set, the winners move up to the next higher court and the losers move down. Partners split up and whoever was receiving on the deuce court in the previous set plays with the person from the other pair that was receiving on the ad court. Over the course of the 5 sets, you will typically play with 8 to 12 different players.
Warm up usually starts about 6:30, subject to court availability, and play starts at 7:00. Call the club in advance for reservations, but they are usually available even at the last minute. It only costs $1, plus $5 court fee for non-members. Night lighting and new balls are included.
